Growing up on this beautiful island full of farms, local vegetables, and food-loving parents who made it a point to cook with my sister and I, it was inevitable that I would become a food lover, myself. I recently became a certified holistic nutritionist and have always been drawn to living a nourished and active lifestyle.
During college I was bitten by the travel bug and the quest to immerse myself in other cultures. I've learned how much food brings people together. There's nothing more beautiful than when you don't speak the language and you can communicate through a smile and a good meal together. Through traveling, I have experienced a broad spectrum of food and lifestyles- from teaching at a rural school in Guatemala, where all of the children were malnourished to trekking through southeast Asia, where we picked fresh, organic vegetables from families gardens in northern Thailand. I am a firm believer that food is natures best medicine. As a gardener, traveler, nutritionist and yogini, I am proud to fully encompass this lifestyle of following my heart and I couldn’t be happier that it led me to the Not Your Sugar Mamas!
